"That awkward moment when my teeth have more issues than me."
Back in 2006, my dentist told me that I should wear braces. My lower teeth were not aligned properly; they have spaces so they need braces to help them align. My dentist also told me that I play with my bite. It means that my bite is incorrect, she coined it as 'wonder bite', and if I keep on doing that it will eventually lead to lock jaw. Scary! But I think my bite is still the same. The first few months that I wore braces were a struggle. I keep on getting mouth sores, I'm having a hard time eating and I keep on getting headaches because of the pressure on your teeth. Braces pull your teeth together. In due course I became used to the pain and I look forward every two months for my dental visit. Dentist adjusts the elastics to keep it tight and that's the thing I look forward to - the colorful elastics :) I pick different color every visit, sometimes I asked my dentist to put two alternate colors. I miss that childish feeling.

Good thing, my teeth were very cooperative and it was corrected effortlessly. I had braces for three years and switched to retainers. Upper braces were the first one to be changed and thanks to my stupidity, I lost my first retainer. I had to remove it when I ate in a restaurant and wrapped it in a tissue paper. I forgot to wear it again and lost it. I asked for a new retainer and that's when my lower brace was changed as well. I miss having braces and I prefer them than retainers.
Now, I have another teeth problem. I have bruxism or grinding of the teeth. My mom was the one who told me that I clench my jaw when I am sleeping. Bruxism is not a big deal unless you're doing it while sleeping. I told my dentist about it and he gave me Myo Braces. Myo braces looks like a mouthpiece used by boxers during their fight. I have to put it every night. I look like a blowfish whenever I wear it and its uncomfortable :( So now I have to juggle between retainers and bruxogard.
This is me while on myo braces.

I just hope my teeth and jaws stop with all these dental problems.
